The Orlicke mountains

The Orlicke mountains are
picturesque mountain ridges, which tourists surprisingly discover
on the North-East of Bohemia.
Orlicke
hory create about 50km long ridge that follows the state
border between the Czech Republic and Poland, from Olesnice
v Orl. Horach to Hermanice. The main ridge of the mountains
rises to 1000m above the sea. The highest mountain top is
Velka
Destna (1115 m n.m.). Another important tops are Vrchmezi
(1084 m n.m.), Mala Destna (1090 m n.m.), Serlich (1025 m
n.m.), Annensky vrch (995 m n.m.) or Zaklety (991 m n.m.).To
the area of the Orlicke mountains belong lots of places below
so called Podorlicka pahorkatina. The whole character of the
area nature environment depends on the geological basics there.
The Orlicke mountains are part of the orlicko-kladsko crystalicum.
From the geological point of view there are three parts -
Destenska highlands, Mladkovska highlands and Bukovohorska
highlands. The highest laid area was pronounced the state
protected nature are -
ChKO. There are also many possibilities for tourism and
skiing in the Orlicke mountains. The most famous ski resorts
are Ricky, Destne, Jadrna or Cenkovice.
