The Charakteristics of the race:
Sedivackuv long is the longest sled dog race in the Czech Republic and also one of the hardest races in Europe. It is a four day stage race on the shoulders of the Orlicke mountains, including one bivouac (sleepingout on the snow). Every year mushers from Belgium, Czech, Denmark, France, Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Switzerland take part in this race. The race is rated as the Czech championship in LONG-distance(long trail). In 2004 there took place the Europian championship in LONG and MID. Since the year 2002 Sedivackuv long has been a part of the extreme sled dog race series for the title of the IRON SLED DOG MAN.

Sedivackuv Long offers to all who take part - dogs, mushers, spectators, organizers and sponsors - absolutely extraordinary experience. For those who cannot take part there will be updated info from the race on our websites www.czechlongtrail.com, current reports and shots on the radio, TV, articles and reports in press and for everybody there will be a film as from every year before. All necessary info will be on the website same as the updated resuts.

Information to the 15. year:
It is a four days stage race including one bivouac on Czech side in Orl. Zahori, with total race distance 222 km or 333 km. Czech championship LT 2010 and part of the extreme sled dog race series for the title of the IRON SLED DOG MAN. Part of the race is a night stage.

25 to 29 of Jenuary 2011

Start:
Wendsday 25 January 2011 at 10:00 from pension house START - Jedlova.

Bivouac:
The place of bivouac is in Czech Republic in Orlicke Zahori. On the bivouac is not allowed any help to mushers from doghandlers or any other person. This will be regarded as a major offence, leading to the disqualification of the team.

Pre-race checking:
The day before the race, at the latest at 16.00pm, unless the organisation is informed of a major problem, all teams must be available for pre-race checking. ( The veterinary checking, doping control, FISTC race passports, all race rules are in conformity of FISTC organisation). If the dogs are not checked they will not be allowed to race.

Entry fee:
2000,- KC ( ca. 85,- Euro )
Competitor ICE DOG : 1000,- KC (ca. 43,- Euro)

25 January at 17:00 - in front of the pension house START Jedlova.

Obligate weigh:
7 kg pr dog, maximum 70 kg (according to the snow conditions).

Mandatory equipment:
- 4 booties for each dog in the sled or in use
- spare food for dogs- 1 daily porsion per each dog still in sled pack
- spare harnesses- 2 pieces
- spare dog-collars- 2 pieces
- spare sled lines with all carbines
- first aid kit
- saucers for dogs
- cooker + pot capable of boiling at least 1 liter of water for each dog
- dog blankets- it is not allowed for Nordic bread dogs
- sled bag capable of carrying 2 dogs ( for teams over 6 dogs), 1 dog ( for teams to 6 dogs)
- stake out
- spare food for musher
- extra clothing, underwear and outside clothing, socks.
- tent or canvas
- proper cold weather sleeping bag and karimaten
- map, compass or GPS
- passport
- good headlamp and batteries at least for 5 hours
- cable min. 3m long
- each sled must by equipped with an appropriate brake, a brushbow, security line and two snow hooks ( for teams over 6 dogs), one snow hook ( for teams to 6 dogs)

Charakteristik des Rennens:
Schlittenhunde-Etappenrennen mit einem Pflichtbiwak über den Gebirgskamm des Adlergebirges. Mit internationalem Starterfeld aus der Slowakei, Polen, Deutschland, Osterreich, Schweiz, Frankreich, Belgien und den Niederlanden. Es handelt sich um das längste Rennen der tschechischen Republik und gehört zu den schwersten Rennen in Europa. Schon seit Jahren wird dieses Rennen als Republikmeisterschaft im Longtrail gefahren, und im Jahre 2004 war es als Europameisterschaft für MID und LONG ausgeschrieben. Seit dem Jahr 2002 reiht sich Sedivackuv long in die Serie der vier Rennen um den Titel des IRON SLED DOG MAN ( zwei dieser Rennen finden in Osterreich statt, das vierte in den Schweizer Alpen).

Sedivackuv long ist organisatorisch gut vorbereitet und auch in den Medien gut vertreten. Das Rennen bietet allen Beteiligten (Hunden, Mushern, Zuschauern, Organisatoren und auch Sponsoren) ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. Das Rennen wird auch über das Radio, Fernsehen und Reportagen in der Presse publiziert. Für Interessenten gibt es von den einzelnen Jahrgängen Videofilme. Informationen zum 15. Jahrgang:
Das klassische 4 Tages Rennen mit einem Pflichtbiwak mit einer Gesamtlange von 222 km als tschechische Republikmeisterschaft 2010 und um den Titel des IRON SLED DOG MAN 2010. Teil des Rennens ist auch eine Nachtetappe, die erst nachmittags gestartet wird.

Übernahme der Hunde:
25.1.2010 tierärztliche Übernahme der Hunde mit Chipkontrolle und Kontrolle der Reinrassigkeit nach FISTC bis 16:00 Uhr. Teams die nicht rechtzeitig zur Übernahme anwesend sind dürfen nicht starten.

Biwak:
auf einer Wiese beim Ort Orl Zahory auf tschechischer Seite. Auf dem Biwak ist die Hilfe der Doghandler untersagt. Bei Nichteinhaltung dieser Regel erfolgt die Disqualifikation des Teams. Gegenseitige Musherhilfe ist erlaubt.
